Marta Filipa Amaral Fonseca de Almeida
Holds a Master's degree in Dance Teaching from the Lisbon Dance School (Escola Superior de Dança) of the Lisbon Polytechnic Institute (IPL) (2019). She also completed the Dancer Training Course at the National Conservatory Dance School (Escola Artística de Dança do Conservatório Nacional) (2003/2011) and obtained a diploma in Artistic Improvement and Professionalization of Performers from the Geneva Dance School – Ballet Junior de Genève (2011/2014).
A scholarship recipient of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, she was a member of the Ballet Junior de Genève company between 2011 and 2014, participating in all of the company's productions and tours. During this time, she performed various repertoires by Stijn Celis, Ken Ossola, Barak Marshall, Andonis Foniadakis, Hofesh Shechter, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Gilles Jobin, Cindy Van Acker, Thierry Malandin, Patrick Delcroix, Lucinda Childs, and new creations by Idan Sharabi, Guilherme Botelho, and Yann Marussich.
Since 2015, she has worked as a freelance dancer, participating in various projects in different European cities, notably: Rafael Barreto (2019 and 2022); Teatro Manga (2022); Galway Moves (2020/2021); Rita Spider (2017 and 2019); Cie José Besprosvany (2016/2017); Renato Zanella (2016); Cie Women’s Move (2015/2016); Cie Yann Marussich (2014/2015).
In 2021, she attended the Performing Arts Management/Production course and joined the Almada Dance Festival (Quinzena de Dança de Almada) team as a production assistant, participating in the 29th and 30th editions.
Regarding her teaching of Classical and Contemporary Dance Techniques, notable experiences include: Pallco- Performing Arts School & Conservatory (2020/2021); Escola de Música Nossa Senhora do Cabo (2020/2021, 2021/2022); Quorum Academy (2018/2019).
She currently combines her performance career with teaching.
