Rita Fernandes Rosa Pico

Rita Rosa Pico was born in Lisbon in 1987. At the age of 15, she began her involvement with Theatre at Amadora Secondary School, where she joined two amateur groups, GrUtesco and Teatradançando, as a performer, set designer, and props master. She graduated in Theatre: Set Design in 2008 from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema).

In 2009, she began her collaboration with Teatro da Garagem as a set design and props assistant. She regularly participates in theatre and dance productions with entities such as Teatro do Biombo, Cenas de Teatro, O Rumo do Fumo, and Lobo Mau Produções, among others.

She trained in Professional Makeup and Characterization in 2010 at Atelier VISUALMAIS and has since worked in Television, Advertising, and Cinema on various projects in this area. She collaborated with Sport TV for 6 years and currently collaborates with SKY Sports (DE); in Advertising, she has been part of productions for Krypton, PSP, and FIM; in Cinema and Fiction, notable productions include those by BeActive, C.R.I.M., and Filmes do Tejo.

In 2012, she began her second degree in Theatre, specializing in production, completing her studies in 2017. She worked as an executive producer at the production company Ilha das Tartarugas.

She began teaching the Makeup and Characterization Curricular Unit at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School in 2017.

In 2018, she was awarded the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Professional Development in the Arts grant to specialize in sculpting and modeling makeup prosthetics and special effects at the Escuela Profesional de Escultura ALMART in Madrid.
