Sara Schürmann da Fonseca

Holds a Master's degree in Dance Teaching from the Lisbon Dance School - Lisbon Polytechnic Institute.

She teaches Contemporary Dance Technique at the Lisbon Dance School, Choreographic Composition and Classical Dance Technique at the Luís António Verney School, and Classical Dance Technique at the Victor Córdon Studios (Opart). She also teaches private Classical and Contemporary Dance Technique classes, mainly for students preparing for auditions.

She is a guest teacher at several national schools, notably the Porto Ballet School (Porto), Estúdio 13 (São Miguel-Azores), Passos de Dança (Trofa and Póvoa de Varzim), Estufa Plataforma Cultural (Torres Vedras), and Conservatório de Dança - Dancespot (Lisbon).

In the past, she was the pedagogical director of the Professional Ballet School of Porto, where she taught Classical Dance Technique, Classical Repertoire, Contemporary Dance Technique, and Choreographic Creation.

As a creator, her notable works include: 

“Never Seem to Find the Time” (Teatro Helena Sá e Costa, ESMAE - Porto); 

“Ubiquitous Flutter” (Teatro Helena Sá e Costa, ESMAE - Porto); 

“Behind me. The Monster.” (Teatro Sá da Bandeira - Porto); 

“Tarefa de Poeta” (Cine-teatro António Lanhoso - Santa Maria da Feira); 

“Guerra e Paz”, in co-creation (Teatro Municipal São Luiz - Lisbon); 

“Trabalho de menino”, in co-creation (Biblioteca de Marvila- Lisbon).
